Regulating Your Nervous System W/ The Colors of Fall

It seems like it has taken a long time this Fall for the leaves to change. They finally are and the colors are brilliant. Getting out in nature, especially with this crisp, beautiful Fall weather, is a wonderful way to reconnect with yourself and calm your nervous system.

There’s been a lot of talk lately about the Sympathetic Nervous System and the Parasympathetic Nervous System. The Sympathetic Nervous System is your flight or flight response and your Parasympathetic Nervous System is your rest and digest mode. You want to keep yourself in that Parasympathetic state as much as possible. Some examples of this are doing meditation, deep breathing, spending time with close friends. There are many ways.

With Fall upon us now think about taking a beautiful drive in the mountains or in the countryside to see the wonderful, colorful leaves on the trees. This will be sure to get you into your Parasympathetic state, or in other words a relaxed blissed out state!!!!!!

Happy Fall!!!!!!

Warmest Regards,
Kirsten
